What we can do for you

One day event 22nd of July 10.30 - 3.00 for people interested in the Liberdade Apprenticeship. At the Lyndhurst Centre, Beacon Lough Road, Gateshead, NE9 6TA.
In September 2011 Liberdade will be starting a new apprenticeship scheme for eight people with learning disabilities between the ages of 18 and 25. The apprenticeship will be an intensive two year programme that gets people fit and ready to work in the cultural sector. The scheme will run for three days a week, 44 weeks a year.
If you would like to apply for a place on the scheme we would love to meet you. Liberdade will be hosting a fun, active one day event where we will assess potential candidates for a place on the Liberdade apprenticeship if you cannot make this event we will arrange to meet you at another time. Please email or call us to find out more. You can download a brochure (see below)
The courses are fee based, most people will be able to afford this through direct payments. That means a person attending may have a direct payment to pay for their place on the course. You can find out more about this from your support worker or from your local social work team.
